Your wedding only happens once, you can't go back and reshoot it, unless you have a time machine, and if that's the case...I'd love to talk. The most important thing is capturing it right the first time. You may not have the budget to do a full-blown wedding film package, and that's okay. Do what you can now, the most important thing, have it filmed by a professional. Our Essentials package gives you the most valuable thing, your memories, at a very affordable price point. We shoot the wedding with our talent and years of videography experience and give you the footage. Later, when you have the means to do so, you could let us edit the footage into a glorious film. Until then enjoy watching all of the raw uncut footage with the natural sounds from the day.

Hi my name is Jody Wickersham and I absolutely love shooting film and video. You might even say it's my calling, my passion. For me, it's an art-form and I love creating. I love fusing visual images with sound, creating something that transcends reality. It connects with the viewer on an emotional and even spiritual level.

I feel it's an honor to be included in this very special and intimate moment in your life. For just a moment I get to experience life with you, your family and friends and be apart of your story. It's one of my favorite things.

My goal is to capture intimate moments without drawing attention to myself. My presence at your wedding is discreet. I don't use excessive or distracting production equipment. My method is simple and organic; capturing beautiful and inspiring images of your glorious day.

Imagine that you could bottle up all of the feelings and emotions from your glorious day and relive them anytime you wanted, years and even decades from now. And imagine your memories were captivating and cinematic like a Hollywood feature film. Well, that just so happens to be my specialty. I make wedding films with passion. I love capturing true and intimate moments that touch you on an emotional and even spiritual level. Plus, your memories will look amazing. My trained photographic eye is drawn to dreamy, captivating details. My style is artistic and cinematic but also technically sound. I have years of experience as a professional videographer and editor and I've produced over 100 wedding films as a wedding cinematographer. That's the kind of expertise you'll want for this once in a lifetime event. Captivating memories are priceless, and I can provide those for you like no one else.

The Skill

I bring years of real world video production experience to this one-time event in your life. From live television  to large-scale commercial shoots, and everything in between, I've shot it all and I'm quite accustomed to high-stress situations. The old adage, "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" are words to live by in live video productions. That's why you want someone with experience who knows what to do when the unexpected comes knocking. And, that's why I always come prepared, backup equipment and batteries galore.

The Art

The unfortunate truth is the popularity of tools such as sliders and steadicams have made videographers a bit lazy. These kinds of tools should be used sparingly, to compliment a particular shot, not to replace the need to exercise one's creative prowess. To just slide every shot back and forth or walk around with a camera on a steadicam all day makes for stale, unoriginal footage.

Lens selection is another element of filmmaking that gets shortchanged these days. For me, lens selection is a crucial part of the creative process. Choosing the right lens for the moment, to obtain a specific look is paramount to great filmmaking and the look I want to portray. Simply slapping a on a zoom lens for the day as some might do is severely shortchanging the artistic potential of the footage. Sure, changing lenses is more work, but isn't anything worthwhile? I'm willing to go above and beyond to capture the best image possible. As you watch videos from various wedding videographers, take note of how many shots are eternally sliding or simply stuck on wide, missing important details.

The Skill

The accessibility of cheap video gear has led to an onslaught of new wedding videographers and with that an epidemic of less than desirable video quality. DSLR style cameras which use photography lenses have revolutionized the video world, but it's also proven that just because your new photo camera can shoot video doesn't necessarily mean that you should shoot video, especially for others on their most important day, and extra especially to charge them for it. DSLR cameras if shot in full manual as they should be, are difficult for new shooters to master, this leads to shaky, blown-out, out-of-focus, poorly composed footage.

While you watch videos from various wedding videographers, keep an eye out for these technical issues: overly shaky--lack of camera support or experience, too bright/too dark/detail is lost--incorrect iris or iso settings or using auto mode, depth of field is too shallow/focus hard to follow--incorrect iris setting or lack of skill tracking focus, staccato effect--incorrect shutter setting outdoors, footage looks like home video--incorrect frame rate/shutter combo, narration audio poor--not using proper microphone, awkwardly framed shots--lack of experience.
